How fitting for this day. I went out to the barn, and saw a hen standing and huffing and a puffing, so I squatted down so I could get a better look, and within seconds, that hen laid a nice round creamy pink colored egg. And when I picked it up, it was so warm. I love that. I love knowing how old my eggs are. I collect them every day, and write the dates on them. And the eggs from today say, "Happy Mothers Day Egg" on them.
Also, I have 2 hens setting, so I cant wait to get some peepers soon!

Chicks comeing........when?
Probably a week from now for one hen, and a bit longer for the other hen. Each egg has to be sat on for 20-21 days and then they finally hatch. I've seen chicks hatch out. I should get it on video, I think you'd like it... :) Also, you should get a chicken hen if you like fresh eggs, plus it's cheaper to own 1 hen and get fresh eggs, PLUS if you ever have table scraps like fruit or spaghetti noodles, the hen would love that!
plus her eggs would be healthier for you, and aren't store boughten eggs from caged hens? why support that? I couldn't imagine having chickens living in cages! the free ranged hens eggs are the best!
