Sorry, no pictures of his tail when he first got here, but I think it looks better brushed out, (it was real raggedy looking) but is still short at the top. It kind of looks like it's growing out though. I was told it could be short from having a dirty sheath and rubbing his tail on things, (which any time I try to wash it, or pick at it, the leg that is on the opposite side of me, he picks it up, and either wants to stomp or kick out, to show his dis-appreciation. I think he does not want to hurt me, but wants to show me he doesn't like having his sheath messed with) or it could be short because of worms. His previous owner did worm him regularly, and did rotate wormers, but could of cleaned his water trough more often. So I am not sure why he use to rub his tail, but I haven't seen any worms. Oh, and the first or second night of being here, he ate a bite of the goats mineral mix that Lady Of Chaos buys from us, to make her goats healthy, it keeps their coats shiny and slick, prevents foot and hoof rot, and, they are disease free, and keeps them worm free too. And maybe he knew he needed some of that mineral, and that is why goats taste and try and eat everything. Or maybe goats just like to eat everything cause they are goats. Anyways, his sheath is a little cleaner, because every chance I get, I try to pick off some of the filth on it.

Hah! Finally, I can post. Don't kno what was up but it wasn't letting me yesterday. Dang blogger anyway.
He's looking good. So cute in the hat and all that. His sheath does need cleaned. He's probably trying to kick cause it hurts. Next time when you go to pluck some of the crusties off take a warm wet wash cloth and rub it with that. The 'wet' will loosen the crusties and sooth at the same time. And warm because most of them like it warm vs. cold.
Good luck keeping him grey lol. It's pretty much impossible here. :)
Yeah, definitely needs to be cleaned. You know that makes sense, because my mom thinks it looks irritated. I have taken a warm wet wash cloth and a bucket of warm, but not too warm though. I wouldn't want it too hot or too cold, that I wouldn't want my own hand in the bucket of water. If it was too hot, or too cold, he'd probably just suck it up back inside faster. So I have never tried to clean him with a cold wash cloth. It just wouldn't make sense trying to clean him with a cold wash cloth. Anyways, I figured out how to clean him last night!!! I went to pick the dirt out of his hooves, and decided to pick out dirt off and out of his penis, and I did, because while I was picking out dirt, I was holding his left front leg, and he didn't want to stand on 2 legs and fall over LOL. So I think I will be more able and successful cleaning it next time, because I will bring a wash cloth, and a glove, well because the smell is horrible. And it took forever to clean the smell off last night.. lol. And I will probably be able to even pull it down to clean it easier, and have more access to it. Do you think it would be a good idea to use goat milk soap? I think it would be really soothing, I certainly like to wash my body with the goat milk soap. So should I cut a small piece off a new and unused bar of soap, to put in the bucket of warm water to clean him.
Oh, and I wonder if you'd be able to clean Saheib too, if you tried cleaning him while holding a hoof at the same time, or if his reaction to you trying to clean him is worse than Dandy's. Dandy has never reacted to badly, and he was really good while on 3 legs. Cause once he knew he was on 3 legs, he stood there like a perfect little angel/gentlemen. :)
Umm, I wouldn't use the goats soap. The only soap anyone has ever said was good/safe to use is the original blue Ivory, just a couple drops in a big bucket of warm water. So, I don't know how he'd react to goat soap. The skin is really delicate and easily irritated there. I just don't know how it would react to goat soap...
Okay, good to know, thanks.
I've never heard of using the original ivory. The only thing I know to use is the sheath cleaner from the tack store.
And gloves are good! You're right about the darn smell. It's awful to get rid of.
