First horse ridden: Noah but first horse I have really ridden, Dandy.

3. First horse trotted on: Dandy.

4. First horse cantered on: Dandy.

5. First Horse fallen off of: Baylor.. with me and my sister, we were riding him, and he went under a tree and we were being scooted off by tree branches, so we grabbed on to the fencing... and Baylor turned his head around looking, with the look on his face saying "Hey... where did my riders go?" lol. Wait does that count for falling off?

6. Most recent horse fallen off of: I cant even remember my most recent fall, it's been awhile since I've fallen off. But Dandy, regardless of how long ago.

7. Most terrifying fall: probably my first fall.

8. First horse jumped with: I've never jumped, for real.

9. First horse who ran away with you: Once with Dandy. Which would go along with my most serious fall, but not even that fall was my most terrifying, I had too much adrenaline pumping to be scared. He was running so fast, to get back to his barn of course, when he turned into the driveway, I literally came unglued from my saddle and went over his right shoulder, managed to flip so when I fell I landed on my back. The worst of my injury was 3 or 4 abrasions on my back, and a slightly crunched helmet. Thankfully that's it for injuries.

10. First horse that scared the crap out of you: Kaa Daya.

11. First horse shown: I've never shown.

12. First horse to win a class with: I've never won.

13. Do you/have you taken lessons: Yup.

14. First horse you ever rode bareback: Noah.

15. First horse trail ridden with: Tootie Fruitie.

16. Current Barn name: Who? me or my horse?? here, I'll answer both, Kim and Dandy. That my horses and my barn names.. lol.

17. Do you ride English or western?: Western.

18. First Horse to place at a show with: I've never placed anything at a show.

19. Ever been to horse camp?: No.

20. Ever been to a riding clinic?: No.

21. Ridden sidesaddle?: Nope, but it sounds and looks fun!

22. First horse leased: I've never leased.

23. Last Horse Leased: Repeat, I've never leased, lol.

24. Highest ribbon in a show: I've never shown.

25. Ever been to an 'A' rated show?: No.

26. Ever competed in pony games/relay races?: Nope.

27. Ever fallen off at a show?: No, knock on wood!

28. Do you ride Hunter/Jumpers?: No.

29. Have you ever barrel raced? No.

30. Ever done pole bending?: No

31. Favorite gait: A truly good canter or lope. I'd have to say my favorite canter was when I was cantering in Tammy's barn, and she made a compliment and said "Wow, you just cantered all by yourself around the arena a couple times really good!"

32. Ever cantered bareback?: Yes.

33. Have you ever done dressage?: No.

34. Have you ever evented?: No.

35. Have you ever mucked a stall?: Many :).

36. Ever been bucked off?: Yeah.. I cant remember how long ago, because it was so long ago.

37. Ever been on a horse that reared?: Nope.

38. Horses or ponies. Both!

39. Do you wear a helmet?: sometimes.

40. What's the highest you've jumped: I've not jumped.

41. Have you ever ridden at night?: Yes.

42. Do you watch horsey television shows?: Of course!

43. Have you ever been seriously hurt/injured from a fall?: No.

44. Most falls in one lesson: Zero. Somehow horses can get the vibes that tell a trainer is there and instructing. Though once, my horse went down to roll, and I heard "BAIL!" so I got off at the perfect time. He's only tried that a couple (no more than 3 times), a long time ago. He's finally gotten over it. He doesn't even try anymore, with me bareback.

45. Do you ride in an arena/ring?: I haven't lately, but want to.

46. Have you ever been trampled by a horse?: No.

47. Have you ever been bitten?: No, but occasionally I get nibbled, lol.

48. Ever had your foot stepped on by a horse?: Yes, but who hasn't?? lol.

49: Favorite riding moment: This past winter, in the snow.

50. Most fun horse you've ridden: Dandy.

Mandie skates the board.

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v15.nonxt1.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3Dc81698fe94c4cb18%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1331524237%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D5BE2B08C2520B91BD2F5D1CF2E2859C2A8550EC.59687C52E28B590B55F32BA27631E17C599878CC%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3Dc81698fe94c4cb18%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3DGSt7dHAvnhw8lp5yjgxOMyGE1Cg&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

I love the wing on her right side, I also love how cute she is when she bails. When it was August, the end summer. And no snow. This is Callie riding my Dandy. And these were also the good ol days because the computer would upload my pictures. Now, I don't know how to upload my pictures. As I'd like to upload pictures, I think I ought to try uploading my pictures on someone else's computer to see if I can upload pictures that way, and then add them here or send them to my e-mail.

Anyways, enjoy the pictures of good ol days! and don't worry! very soon the good ol days will soon return!

Biscuit look alike.

From the time I was 2 to 11, my family and I had a Golden Retriever mix, named Biscuit, my sister and I's (or my?) favorite dog we have ever had. We called her "the best dog in the world" and were very sad when we lost her 6 years ago. Anyways, to get to the subject name... My sister took me to go trim some people's goat hooves in Monroe today, and we went on a wrong path on a 'Y' road and knocked on a door to find out I got the wrong house, and the people there told me how to get to the right house. Anyways, as we were getting ready to get back in the car, there was a female dog named Molly, who looked just like our Biscuit. When we petted her and looked at her, all we could see was our Biscuit. From her coats color, to the texture of her coat, a soft silky top coat, with a thick fuzzy undercoat. Her eyes, her face, even her old doggie teeth, looked like Biscuit's (the dog was 13). Even the way the dog acted, so friendly, putting her self right next to us so we could pet her. It was amazing to us, we could not believe how much it felt like reuniting with an old pet. We wanted to take her home and spend lots of time with this dog. But I don't think those friendly folks would have liked that, haha... :)

One of my favorite riders, and horses.

I can tell the announcer is choking up, reading that.

I'd love to be able to ride like her!

What horse are you?

What breed of horse are you? I went out to the barn, and saw a hen standing and huffing and a puffing, so I squatted down so I could get a better look, and within seconds, that hen laid a nice round creamy pink colored egg. And when I picked it up, it was so warm. I love that. I love knowing how old my eggs are. I collect them every day, and write the dates on them. So when I went to mount, he went to get a bite of grass, and I kept him from doing that and then he swiped his hoof at the ground, and I told him "no!". So then he behaved. But he was probably mad about that. So then I mounted him and we walked around the premises, it's good to do that, because then we know what to expect when riding around the premises at a faster gait. And then we trotted around, and then we cantered and then we went the opposite way and it was a good. And then when I was ready to go, we walked, but then I decided just to trot out, but then he decided to canter and run really faster and I was like, what is with this? and then I thought maybe he was still mad about not letting him graze, cause a couple times while walking he tried. And he tried a little bit kicking and grumpiness, and I was slightly worried about falling, and but then I got him halted, and I stopped him, and I was proud of myself, that I got in control, but then I got down, and I griped at him and I could tell that he could tell that I was mad at him, and I was telling him who was boss! cause he thought he could go a mile, even though I didn't give him an inch. But I was proud that even though he was getting out of control, I managed to stay on, and stop him, and I was proud of myself that I am such a good rider, that I could do that.

There is a saying, and it goes like this..."The spirited horse, which will try to win the race of it's own accord, will run even faster if encouraged."

And I feel like that totally fits that situation that happened. It doesn't take too much to get my horse to go, so now I just have to work on stopping him good and always staying in good control. Though I wondered if when I rode him, and the saddle pad is sitting on his mane, and when I ride, I would wonder if that was pulling on his mane at all, so I trimmed a couple inches off at the back of his mane, I think that has improved how comfortable he has been a lot, because I think it was pulling on his mane at fast gaits.

Also, a good tip, that I learned yesterday night, is to never ride a horse that hasn't had a good roll before saddling. Oh sure, he'll let you ride til your done, but then when you stop to dismount, he'll lay down and try his best to roll with the saddle on! I mean come on, what is with that? rolling with the saddle on? does he really think he can get a good roll with his saddle on him?!? lol. So definitely expect that, if you don't let your horse roll before riding. Cause it's all about the roll and getting dirty, with these horses.

It's snowing!

little tiny little snowflakes! but it's not going to stick... So we talked about what days would work, and then this morning after church I called her to let her know my mom is leaving tomorrow after she house cleans, and then my mom will be back before March 30th, for my Grandma's (my moms moms) 80th Birthday!

and then my mom is leaving again the 31st for Elgin, and she'll be gone for another week. SO so far no days in March will work for lessons, as long as I don't have any transportation, and right now I don't have any transportation. And we'll see how April will work, for a make up lesson. Unless I can still make up my missed lesson in March still. Doesn't look like I can though.

Goofy - How to ride a horse! very funny.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRtYqAwQCOY

Measurements. Whats your waist size?

Ok, so tonight I found the measuring tape,
and took it outside to see how BIG those bellies outside are.
The goat bellies, if you didn't realize what I was referring to.

Reflection, a 4 yr old Alpine doe, is 53 ins. around at the belly.
I doubt that she got pregnant. And if she did, there couldn't be more than 1 hiding in there.

Reflection's coming 1 yr old daughter, Appa, aka Cinnabun, is 43 ins. around at the belly.Only 10 (nearly a foot) smaller around than her mom's belly. I KNOW Appa is pregnant.

Shaddo, a coming 2 yr old (tomorrow, happy 2nd birthday Shaddo!) is 49 ins around!

6 ins. bigger than Appa, 4 ins. smaller smaller than Reflection.
So Shaddo is really HUGE!! I can barely wait to see her kids, and to see how many she kids, and how big her kids are, come mid-late March.
Unless she's just getting fat on hay. But she is the 2nd or 3rd, on the alpha pecking order, only because she's still younger than 2 other does in the herd. Cause I barely grain at all, until the babies are born.
And the goats get their minerals in the mineral feeders in the barn.

I'll upload pictures of the goats tomorrow, and of course Shaddo, the birthday doe! and her big belly too :) .

Also, my dad is 48 inches around at the waist, so I called him a pregnant goat, and he quickly replied, "I am not!" lol :)

I on the other hand, am 28 inches at the waist :).

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://kimslilblog.blogspot.com/2008/02/measurements-whats-your-waist-size.html' title='Measurements. Today, my day started out with me waking up at 8:00, getting ready, and leaving at 9:00 to get to my first appointment at 9:30. But, I left a little later than 9:00, so I got there a little later than 9:30. I got there around 10:00 because we (my dad) accidentally took the wrong turn, but eventually we found our way to her house. She had 3 goats. 2 that looked like Oberhasli mix, and 1 cute little fella. A Nigerian Dwarf... awww he a cutee!! :) yes he is. And she wants to learn how to trim them, so she clipped a little on him, and watched me trim the other 2, and she thinks she gets it. And I told her, that if need be, we could get her a stanchion with a grain holder, for them to eat grain in, so it would make it really easy for her to trim her goats. So we talked about that for awhile, and she paid me, and told me how thankful she was to have me come to her house. And then it was off to the next house, and we arrived at 11:00. The next house had 14 goaties. All registered, 13 Nigerians (3 ND bucks) 1 Boer doe and 10 Nigerian does/doelings. How cute!?! too cute!! times like this, really makes me want to get Nigerian Dwarfs, because they are the smallest Dairy breed, weighing in at 60-100 lbs. And she says their milk is so good too. And she has a little ND stanchion, so it only took me 2 hours, trimming 7 goats an hour. The really pretty 200 lb nearly 3 yr old Boer doe, Violet, I did her front hooves standing on the stanchion, but she leaned so much while trimming her back hooves she leaned off the stanchion. So then I decided to heck with that, we'll let her lean on the wall if she wants to lean. And then she was all done. I forgot to bring my coveralls, so thankfully this lady had a yellow plastic suit for me to put on before I trimmed the bucks. And boy were they stinky little fellas! but they weighed 100 lbs so it was so easy to trim them... unlike LOC's 300 lb buck Prince Valiant. He has to be wrestled to the ground, and then some more wrestling lol :) but thankfully he wears down his hooves good, so I can trim him once a year. And I should remember to NOT trim bucks in the rut/breeding season!!! cause thats when they smell their WORST!!! lol. And my dad could smell the stink when I got into the car, but maybe he was smelling my gloves. Those are what were closest to the bucks smelly peed on legs... well except for my hoof clipper. I rinsed and dried them off, and put them back into the case that I bought them in. And then we left her house and it was around 1:00 and decided it's time to eat. So we went to a Dairy Queen. My dad had already ordered by the time I got into the DQ, and he ordered me a kids meal, ? and it came with an option, so I chose a Dilly Bar. (If you don't know what a Dilly Bar is, go to google images and type in Dilly Bar Humor, and look at the very first image) that kinda looks like me, with a Dilly Bar. But I'm 10 yrs older. But I act 10 yrs younger. So anyways, I took a bite, and then I wanted my dad to take a bite of my Dilly Bar, and he wouldn't take a bite, so I hit his face with my Dilly bar, and his reaction was sooo funny. He gave me the 'look', and the look is when he looks like, "did you just hit me with your Dilly Bar?" LOL. Yeah, he's a good dad. Cause all he threatened me with, was making me buy another Dilly Bar so he could slap my face with a Dilly Bar... LOL. But that hasn't happened yet, but I know when it does, I'll laugh as hard as I did when I slapped my dad with a Dilly Bar!! LOL :P

So anyways, it was 2:00 and time to go visit Dandy at his boarding facility... he got an inch size owwie on his lower front part of his ankle/leg 2 weeks ago on his left front leg. And in the last 2 days, it's gotten proud flesh even though we have been washing and cleaning and re-bandaging it every day. The lady who lives there, is REALLY good at wrapping it back up, and I am learning to wrap it really good. So the the vet is going to come work on him Tuesday at 2:00, so I need transportation that day. Anyways, if there is some good ointment stuff we should be putting on him, let me know. We are putting Nolvasan, an anti-fungal ointment on it, super salve on it, Schreiners herbal solution, and even sometimes putting a bit of peroxide on it too. And I looked up proudflesh online, and read Equaide is good stuff to put on it. So I want to get some of that ordered if it really eliminates and prevents proudflesh and makes healing faster. Because the vet is more expensive, and also the vet says it'll take 3 months to heal. Anyways, I'd like suggestions, and input, and thoughts, and any advice on what else could we could give Dandy.

Tempo the foal at 1 week old.

More clicker training. I think he does not want to hurt me, but wants to show me he doesn't like having his sheath messed with) or it could be short because of worms. His previous owner did worm him regularly, and did rotate wormers, but could of cleaned his water trough more often. So I am not sure why he use to rub his tail, but I haven't seen any worms. Oh, and the first or second night of being here, he ate a bite of the goats mineral mix that Lady Of Chaos buys from us, to make her goats healthy, it keeps their coats shiny and slick, prevents foot and hoof rot, and, they are disease free, and keeps them worm free too. And maybe he knew he needed some of that mineral, and that is why goats taste and try and eat everything. Or maybe goats just like to eat everything cause they are goats. Anyways, his sheath is a little cleaner, because every chance I get, I try to pick off some of the filth on it.

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; It started out with my dad getting home at 2:20, us leaving the house at 2:40, getting to my first goat client's house, Cheryl, at 3:02. She has two Nubian wether goats, and she said she bought them from Kim Puzio as little babies, that she use to trim. But now, Lloyd and Harry (she says her son named them :) are like, 200 lb goats, almost as much as Prince. Just thank goodness they don't smell and act like Prince, who wants to stick his tongue out at you, and make funny sounds :) How we trim them, is she puts a collar on them, and a lead rope, ties the lead rope, and have a bucket of grain to distract them. And one of them spilled the bucket of grain, so the other one, sticked his head under the fence with his long neck, and was actually getting the grain too. Desperate huh? lol. So then I finished trimming her goats in good time. About 20 minutes. And the clock said 3:28 (okay so we talked about 10 minutes worth at least :)

So then we headed to the second house, Donna's house. She has 2 Angora goats (cute little fuzzy things :) and 2 very skittish Navajo Sheep. Part of it she says, is their breeding. Naturally skiddish they are. And so when we entered the stall she had them in, immediately the 2 sheep start flying. I am not kidding either, they were running really fast, and then would run up the walls and spin and jump, and were in the air, and they were like, 5 feet in the air!! and then they calmed down after 10 minutes. So then we used a chair, and sat the little 40-50 lb goats in my lap one by one. We first did the angora buck, he is about a year old, and he just sat in my lap so calmly, and he was soo cute and fuzzy, that I wouldn't mind him breeding a few female goats I have, so I could have some cute fuzzy little babies :) and then we did the female angora goat, and she as well sat in my lap calmly. But the ram was no way going to let us grab him, or his female. So we decided to wait until next time I come. And she said, she is definitely going to continue to have me clip her animals hooves. And it was now 4:00. Time to get to my next appointment.

The third house, Sarah's house. She told me she had 3 Nigerian Dwarfs. But I saw 4. Omg you guys, she had 3 cute little Nigerian wethers, and OH MY GOSH the CUTEST little 3 lb Nigerian Dwarf doeling ever! just a baby that she recently got! and it was soooo cute. Now the boy's hadn't been trimmed for like, a year, but she has this HUGE HUGE pile of cinder blocks! so it looked like they hadn't been done for a month instead of a year. And then I sat down, and put the little baby in my lap, and looked at those tiny tiny little toes!! and just trimmed the smallest amount of nail off of a goat, that I have ever done. And she just sat there in my lap, and I was in LOVE :)
which reminds me of how Lady of Chaos felt, when she first saw little baby lily with her teeny tiny hooves. And I also think that Lady Of Chaos needs 50 cinder blocks :) 40 for the female goats, 10 for the male goats.

and then, the fourth house I went to, was like a house call. These people, are people that use to go to the same church, but they recently moved to Arlington, with like, at least as much acreage as Chaos. And lots of it is for the goats to munch on, and some that isn't. The reason I went to their house was because one of their little boys wasn't feeling good. He had nibbled some fox glove just out of his enclosure, that was pointing in the fencing, that he could reach. So it gave him a bad stomach ache, his rumen wasn't as noisy as the other goat, he wasn't as alert, he was laying down, he wouldn't eat grain we offered him. But we rubbed his belly a lot, and we got him up, and walked him around, and he ate some grass and brush, and then we walked him around some more, and then he pooped normal, and then was being more alert, moving faster, and then we were over by the garage and he looked for his grain, and we offered some to him, and he ate the grain! So we definitely felt like he was feeling better. And we were there for 2 hours, we got there at six, and left at 8. And we got home at nine, because for 30 minutes, the people in front of us were driving 40 miles an hour, which was ridiculous! and we couldn't even pass them. And anyways, I made $100 dollars yesterday! I totally am GOOD! :) anyways, I am done telling you about my yesterday, and bragging. SO BUH BYE!

New goat client.

Well, I just got back from trimming Wendelyns goats hooves. She is a brand new client (this is her first trim from me) as she can no longer trim her goats herself. And we talked and talked. And It just so happens, that her best friend is Alison G. (I know you know who that is, L.O.Chaos! :) and anyway, her goats are related to Alison in one way or another. I trimmed 4 of her does, 2 of them are young wethers that will go for Dinner Guests... DG's :) so we didn't trim them. And then she paid me 40 dollars, and hey, I cant tell people who insist on paying me that good no! LOL. So we are going to get her goats on a regular basis trim now. And also, she has 2 dozen Muscovy ducks, and she'd like to get down to 4 females or so, and one drake. So next time I come, I can exchange trimming her goats for her ducks, as lots of people will pay 20-25 dollars for a drake. And I can always find good homes for duck hens too. Her ducks are from Alison G too, so they are solids and colors some solid blacks, solid browns, and some creamy peach colored ones too. I forgot what color she said they are. She also had a brown one with a white triangle spot pointing down on his neck, which made him look like he was wearing a tux. Anyways my nose still hurts from last night. I was having my dad help me get hay for the goats, and as I was closing the fence behind us, so all the goats wouldn't get in, Cinnabun jumped on the fencing, which caused a sharp tiny metal piece from the fence to jab, and go up in my nose, and make my nose pour blood, and it hit so hard, I was bleeding, and crying, and since I was crying blood was dripping in my mouth, so I had to spit out blood spit. It was not a pretty site!! so I haven't given Cinnabun any love or attention lately, and she is acting like she doesn't know why. And I'll probably be back to giving her love and attention, when my nose doesn't hurt anymore, and look like a nose ring gone bad!

Whatcha doin?

It's time for my close up!

Panda in the HOUSE!

So a few days ago, I dressed up all in white, and wanted my mom to take photo's of my does (when you show goats, you wear all white) but of course, playing spider solitare, and singing 'my dingaling' is more important. And I begged and begged her, but that didn't work, and then, my sister Callie comes downstairs, and says, 'mom are you ready to go?' and mom says 'oh yeah,' and then I say, 'well now it's too late to take pictures,' and THEN my mom wants to take pictures, but I was no longer in the mood. And anyway, today, around 8:30 the back door was open, and Pandy likes being on the back porch, so she walks in and I say, Pandy, what are you doin? but she wasn't going crazy like all the other goats do, if any of the other goats get in the house, they will find the grain, or the watermelon rines that I haven't yet taken to them, but Pandy didn't do any of that. Now I wish I had found my camera sooner, but I didn't so I only have one picture. Which I think is very cute! and she sniffed around, she checked out the living room (which is where she is at in this photo) and she checked out both bathrooms, and my parents room. And thankfully thats all she did! cause, usually, goats go potty in the house... : O ! anyways, around that time I got this picture, I could tell Callie woke up, and was coming downstairs, so I had to put Pandy outside, otherwise Pandy would still be in the house. But Callie doesn't like goats in the house. But I think Pandy is one of the most gorgeous goats, and most calm and quite, she barely makes a noise, I have only heard her ma like 3 times since I got her on the 6th. And when she does, it is a very quiet maa. I may breed her in November 07, or I may breed in November 08. I was told the last time she kidded was in early 06, so the last time she had babies was a year and a half ago, and she is still producing milk. And she is a nice milker. Anyway, I think Pandy may feel more at home now since checking out inside our house :). I know when she got here, some of the does did not make her feel welcome. Butting her, and biting her tail. But thankfully she has no ears to bite, so if she feels like biting Reflections ears (Reflection bit her tail) than Pandy can go ahead, and bite Reflection back. :)

ISLAND-CAPRI PANDORA

I haven't yet got any good pictures of Pandy, the very flashy! The reason I haven't yet got pictures, is because I just got her two days ago, and the weather has been wet all day today, and played 'trim that goats hooves!' for a few hours at LOC (Lady Of Chaos) house yesterday.
